How to Make Homemade Blueberry Crisp

In addition to helping you grow your own fruits and veggies, we’re also big proponents of showing you how to utilize your produce in the kitchen to create memorable dishes. So today I’m going to show you how to pick blueberries straight from your bushes and turn them into a wonderful blueberry crisp for you and your family to enjoy!

I picked blueberries for the first time this year and got about five cups off the bushes!

This recipe is simple, delicious, and will leave you wanting more. So pick some blueberries, fire up your oven, and let’s make some blueberry crisp!

INGREDIENTS

FILLING:

5 cups of blueberries

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup flour

TOPPING:

3/4 cup oats

1/2 cup pecans, chopped

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup butter softened

1 teaspoon cinnamon

BAKING INSTRUCTIONS

Combine the filling ingredients together in a large bowl, ensuring all of the berries are evenly coated with sugar and flour.

Combine five cups of blueberries with one cup of sugar and 3/4 cup of flour, mix gently

Spread the berry mixture evenly in a large glass baking dish.

Once the blueberries are evenly coated with the sugar and flour, place them into a large glass baking dish

Now combine all of the topping ingredients together in a separate bowl, stirring gently.

Combine all of the topping ingredients together and mix well

Layer the topping evenly on top of the blueberry mixture.

Layer the topping mixture on the blueberries and place in oven

Bake at 375° for 30-40 minutes.

The blueberry crisp will be finished after 30-40 minutes in the oven at 375 degrees

Let the blueberry crisp cool for 10-15 minutes, then serve over vanilla ice cream.
